the numbers. So we do.

Kava Review exists because the canned-kava boom outran the facts. In a few short years, kava went from kava-bar shells and bulk powder to grocery-store coolers — and brought thousands of first-time drinkers with it. What it didn't bring was verification: products with undisclosed or vaguely stated kavalactone content, "noble" origin claims with nothing behind them, and labels nobody was checking against an actual lab report.

So that's the job. For every product we rank, we pull the published Certificate of Analysis and check the label's kavalactone numbers against it. We check cultivar and origin claims against what the brand actually documents. We verify every listing, image, and price against live Amazon data before publication, and we read the long-run drinker reports for what a number can't tell you — earthiness, flavor masking, whether people finish the can. Then we rank, using a methodology we publish in full.

On independence: Kava Review is funded by affiliate commissions on some of the links we publish. Brands cannot buy a placement, a verdict, or a kinder review — rankings are set before monetization is ever considered, and a product with no affiliate relationship outranks one with a deal whenever it earns it.

If a brand won't publish the lab report, we won't rank it.

Who we are, plainly: an independent research and verification desk for kava, not a lab and not a tasting panel. We read published lab reports — we don't operate a lab of our own, and we don't claim taste scores or tests we did not run.
